Dr Sandeep Basavarajaiah is an experienced consultant cardiologist, specialising in arrhythmia, congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and interventional cardiology. He has a particular interest in sports cardiology and heart failure. Dr Basavarajaiah has performed over 2000 percutaneous coronary interventions and supervised more than 600 cases involving specialist registrars.

Dr Basavarajaiah's expertise extends to evaluating the cardiovascular health of athletes, having assessed over 3,000 individuals using ECG and echocardiogram. He originally qualified in India with a medical degree and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians. His training includes prestigious institutions such as Papworth Hospital in Cambridge and San Raffaelle Hospital in Milan, where he honed his skills in coronary intervention under the guidance of Professor Antonio Colombo, a globally recognised interventional cardiologist.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Basavarajaiah is actively involved in research. During his time at King's College, he investigated the differences in left ventricular remodelling among athletes of various ethnicities, contributing to his MD. He has published numerous articles in esteemed medical journals, including 'Heart' and 'Catheter Cardiovascular Intervention.'
