Dr Sarita Singh is a Consultant Dermatologist at Chelsea and Westminster and the Royal Brompton Hospitals in London. She graduated from King's College London School of Medicine, where she received several academic awards. Dr Singh completed an intercalated BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, earning a prize for the best thesis. Her dermatology training took place at University College London Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Singh was awarded a two-year Research Fellowship to pursue an MD focused on melanoma at the Royal Marsden and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, Imperial College London. She has presented her research both nationally and internationally and was a co-recipient of the prestigious Everett C Fox Award for outstanding laboratory research at the American Academy of Dermatology Resident's symposium. She currently serves as the research lead for the Dermatology department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Her main clinical and research interests include skin cancer, hair and nail disorders, and inflammatory skin diseases. Dr Singh runs a General Dermatology clinic, treating patients with conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, pigmented skin lesions, skin infections, and autoimmune-related skin diseases. She also performs minor operations, including mole excisions and skin biopsies.
In 2012, Dr Singh established a specialist Hair clinic at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, one of the few dedicated services in the UK. Additionally, she manages the specialist cutaneous sarcoidosis service at The Royal Brompton Hospital. Dr Singh is actively involved in teaching medical students, dermatology trainees, GPs, and allied health professionals. She is the secretary of the Senior Skin Group, a special interest group of the British Association of Dermatologists, and reviews care pathways and patient information for Map of Medicine and NHS Choices.
