Mr Say Aun Quah is a senior NHS Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with a special interest in corneal and cataract refractive surgery. He obtained his medical degree from Queen’s University of Belfast and has over 15 years of experience as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the NHS. He began his Ophthalmology career at Cheltenham General Hospital and completed his training at several London hospitals including Guys and St Thomas' Hospital and in the Northwest. Following completion of his Specialist Registrar training in the Mersey Deanery, Mr Quah then went on to undertake advanced specialty training in Cornea & Refractive surgery and Oculoplastics. Mr Quah has also completed a Cornea, Anterior Segment & Refractive Surgery fellowship at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Mr Say Aun Quah has over 20 publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and has presented scientific papers and lectures in Europe and the USA. He is a college tutor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a council member of Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association and is an Examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Mr Quah is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee for HCA Wilmslow Hospital and a committee member of the Clinical Excellence Awards for his East Cheshire NHS Trust.
Mr Quah's areas of expertise include cataract surgery, advanced cataract surgery, and vision correction surgery. He is proficient in procedures such as laser eye surgery, implantable contact lens, lens replacement surgery, and refractive lens exchange. He treats conditions like myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, and keratoconus. His interests also extend to cosmetic eyelid surgery, including blepharoplasty and ptosis correction. Mr Quah has been serving as a consultant since 2006 and continues to contribute significantly to the field of ophthalmology.
