Mr Shahbaz Malik is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in shoulder, elbow and knee surgery. He completed his medical degree at Cardiff University in 2007, following a BSc (Hons) from St George’s, University of London. He then began his surgical training in London at the North Thames Foundation School and progressed through the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme, culminating in a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He has completed over two and a half years of specialist fellowship training in sports medicine, including placements at the arthroscopy unit of The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. He also spent a year at the Pan Am Clinic in Winnipeg, Canada, where he honed skills in sports surgery, upper limb reconstruction and soft tissue knee reconstruction. He further advanced his surgical expertise through the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship, concentrating on all aspects of shoulder and upper limb surgery, and complex multi?ligament knee reconstruction.

Appointed as a consultant in orthopaedic surgery in 2017, Mr Malik currently practices at The Harborne Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, in Birmingham. He specialises in the treatment of osteoarthritis, biceps injuries and a range of sports?related shoulder, elbow and knee conditions. His role includes performing minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and complex reconstructive surgery to restore joint function and relieve pain.

His areas of interest encompass advanced reconstruction techniques, sports injury management and optimisation of recovery through evidence?based rehabilitation protocols. He is strongly committed to personalised patient care, spending time explaining treatment options and ensuring patients understand their care pathway.
