Dr Shazia Ovaisi is a General Practitioner with Thurleigh Road Practice in London in the NHS. Her interests are in general medicine, public health, dermatology, hypertension, diabetes, women’s health, child health and wellbeing, international development and mental health.

Dr Ovaisi qualified in medicine from Bart's and The London Hospital in 2002. After completing her medical rotation at Kings College London and obtaining Membership of The Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), she began a career in general practice. She holds a postgraduate diploma in dermatology from Bart's and is also a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). During her National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) academic fellowship, she completed a master's degree in public health from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in addition to pursuing stroke research from St George's University of London.

Dr Ovaisi likes to contribute her spare hours to social service. She volunteered with an NGO in Kashmir following the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan and has also spearheaded a social action project at a rural healthcare centre in Africa (Rwanda).
