Dr Simon Paul is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Sports Physician. He specialises in inflammatory arthritis conditions, including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and Osteoarthritis. He also focuses on rehabilitation medicine, gout, widespread pain syndromes, neck and back pain. Dr Paul established London Sports Orthopaedics in 2017, a leading centre for sports injuries, and treats NHS patients in Surrey.
Dr Paul graduated from University College London and completed part of his speciality training with the RAF, serving both in the UK and overseas. He gained extensive experience at specialist units such as Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and St George’s Hospital. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Osteopathy.
In 2006, Dr Paul was appointed as an RAF Consultant at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, where he was Lead Consultant for back pain problems, neurological rehabilitation, and complex medical rehabilitation. He contributed to MOD-wide policy on neck pain rehabilitation and chronic pain management.
Dr Paul is dedicated to helping patients return to their best physical, mental, and psychosocial condition following illness and injury. He has an interest in medicolegal matters and has published work in peer-reviewed journals and medical and legal textbooks. Dr Paul regularly delivers presentations to health professionals and corporate groups in the UK.
