Dr Simon Phillpotts is a Consultant Gastroenterologist specialising in general gastroenterology, endoscopy and pancreatobiliary medicine. He practises privately at HCA Healthcare UK, including The Wellington Hospital, The Princess Grace Hospital, the London Digestive Centre and The Physicians’ Clinic, and is an NHS Consultant at both University College London Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.

Dr Phillpotts graduated from St George’s University of London in 2010 and completed his specialist gastroenterology training across leading hospitals in North London. During his training, he gained extensive experience in general gastroenterology, hepatology, upper gastrointestinal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, clinical nutrition and pancreatobiliary medicine. He further developed his expertise through advanced fellowships at University College London Hospital and the Royal London Hospital.

His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic disorders, liver and bile duct disease, gallbladder conditions, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, gastrointestinal bleeding and swallowing disorders. He performs a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, cholangioscopy, liver biopsy and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG).

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Phillpotts has authored numerous publications, particularly in the endoscopic management of pancreatic and bile duct diseases. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Queen Mary University of London and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including the delivery of advanced endoscopy training courses. He is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centred care and delivering timely diagnosis and personalised treatment for patients with both routine and complex gastrointestinal conditions.
