    Dr Simon Williams is a consultant cardiologist at the Wilmslow Hospital and the Manchester University NHS Trust. He specialises in all aspects of heart failure, from community clinics and inpatient multidisciplinary team (MDT) work to cardiac transplant, ventricular assist device (VAD) assessment, and pacing therapy.

    Alongside his clinical work, Dr Williams is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester. His research group is currently investigating the immune system in heart failure and following cardiac transplantation. He has over 120 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is frequently invited to speak at international conferences. In 2013, he was re-elected to the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) board as Treasurer. He also served as Programme Director for the BSH annual meetings in 2012 and 2014.

    Dr Williams lives in Hale with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he supports Altrincham FC and enjoys running, skiing, and watching Coronation Street.
