Siobhan O’Ceallaigh qualified in Medicine from University College Dublin in 1996. Following early plastic surgical training in Ireland, she moved to Manchester in 2002 to undergo a research fellowship at the University of Manchester. Following the awarding of her doctoral thesis in 2005, Siobhan commenced higher surgical training in plastic and cosmetic surgery in the North West training region.
On awarding of her Certificate of Specialist training and entry onto the Specialist register in Plastic Surgery, Miss O’Ceallaigh was appointed as a plastic and oncoplastic breast surgeon at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle in 2012 before returning to Manchester to take up a breast reconstruction post at Wythenshawe Hospital in June 2013.
She has presented at national and international meetings and has also published in scientific journals and surgical textbooks.
In her spare time Siobhan likes tennis, cycling and running and has recently started participating in sprint triathlons. She is also a keen pub quizzer.
