Mr Sotiris Vimplis is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Whipps Cross University Hospital. He completed his undergraduate studies in 1994 and subsequently undertook specialist registrar training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Nottingham University Hospitals. During his training, he completed special skills courses in gynaecological oncology, laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy, and gynaecological ultrasound. He was awarded membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2004 and achieved specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007.
Mr Vimplis worked as a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham for two years before moving to London to join Whipps Cross University Hospital. He is the lead clinician for colposcopy and gynaecological cancer services at Whipps Cross Hospital.
Mr Vimplis has a special interest in colposcopy, laparoscopic treatment of gynaecological oncology, and ovarian cysts. He is skilled in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery and is experienced in managing general obstetrics and gynaecology cases. His areas of expertise include menstrual disorders, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, prolapse, abnormal smears, and ovarian cysts.
In his spare time, Mr Vimplis is dedicated to supporting philanthropic causes. He frequently travels to remote villages in Nepal to conduct surgical camps for charity, demonstrating his commitment to global health and community service.
