Mr Stephen Brennan is a consultant general surgeon practising at HCA at the Shard and The London Bridge Hospital. He has a specialist interest in upper gastrointestinal (GI), keyhole, and hernia surgery. His areas of particular expertise include gallbladder surgery and laparoscopic (keyhole) repair of hernia.
Mr Brennan performs a range of procedures including upper GI gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy. He has personally performed more than 2,000 laparoscopic procedures, including cholecystectomy, fundoplication, and hernia repair.
Originally from Dublin, Mr Brennan underwent specialist training in Scotland, where he was fortunate to be taught by some of the top experts in the field. He further honed his skills at the MATTU centre in Guildford, an internationally recognised centre for upper GI and keyhole surgery. Additionally, he undertook fellowships in Australia and South Africa, and has participated in hernia surgery missions to under-resourced parts of Africa.
