Dr Kennedy is a highly experienced consultant oncologist who joined The Christie in 2018. He specialises in neuro-oncology, sarcoma, and proton radiotherapy. Dr Kennedy holds clinics at both The Christie and Salford Royal Hospital, where he sees new neuro-oncology patients.
Before his current role, Dr Kennedy worked as a consultant oncologist at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals from 2014 to 2018. During this time, he specialised in neuro-oncology, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), lymphoma, and acute oncology. He completed his training in clinical oncology at The Christie Hospital between 2009 and 2014. Prior to his oncology training, Dr Kennedy gained extensive experience in various acute and general medical specialities in Manchester and Greater London.
Dr Kennedy is a core member of several multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in Greater Manchester, including the Neuro-Oncology MDT, Base of Skull MDT, GMOSS Regional Sarcoma MDT, and The Sarcoma Proton MDT. The Sarcoma Proton team is a national service for the NHS. He also treats patients requiring SRS for brain metastases.
Dr Kennedy's areas of expertise include brain radiotherapy, SRS, sarcoma and proton radiotherapy, and supportive care and quality of life for glioma brain patients. He is actively involved in a neuro-oncology weekly research clinic, delivering its clinical trial portfolio.
