Dr Sundus Yahya is a consultant clinical oncologist. She holds substantive roles at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham, serving as consultant clinical oncologist, radiotherapy service lead and lead for metastatic spinal cord compression. She has held responsibilities as morbidity and mortality lead for cancer services (March 2019–December 2020) and was a medical tribunal member for the First tier Tribunal Social Entitlement Chamber (May–December 2018).

Dr Yahya’s areas of expertise include breast cancer, lung cancer and skin cancer. She is trained in stereotactic radiotherapy using CyberKnife and VMAT techniques and is actively involved in clinical trials for breast, lung and non melanoma skin cancers as both principal and co investigator.

She gained her oncology credentials through clinical oncology training in the Mersey, North West and West Midlands regions and earned a Master’s in Clinical Oncology from the University of Birmingham


As a GMC accredited trainer, Dr Yahya is passionate about teaching and mentoring. She has delivered oncology training in low and middle income countries through the RCR International Travelling.


She works primarily at The Harborne Hospital (HCA Healthcare UK) in Birmingham.
