Dr Sunil Gupta is the Clinical Director for Haematology and Cancer at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Hospital. With over 21 years of experience in clinical and laboratory haematology, he is a highly respected clinician. Dr Gupta completed his training at prestigious institutions including Kings College Hospital, London, and Royal North Shore Hospital, Australia. He obtained his CCST from London Deanery at Kings College Hospital.
Dr Gupta specialises in haematology and oncology, with a particular focus on clotting disorders and anaemias. He is the principal investigator of the TACTIC CoVID trial and has a deep interest in clinical research, particularly on anthracycline toxicity in children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. In 2011, he became a consultant haematologist and has since been diagnosing and treating a variety of primary blood disorders, including clotting disorders, bleeding disorders, and anaemias.
Dr Gupta provides inpatient and outpatient chemotherapies for conditions such as Multiple Myeloma, Lymphomas, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia, and Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. He also offers day case and inpatient blood transfusion and iron infusion services. He is affiliated with major private hospitals in Bromley and Orpington and is on the panel of all major health insurance providers.
An Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, Dr Gupta is passionate about teaching and research. He is a member of the British Society of Haematology, European Haematology Association, Medical Protection Society, and the American Society of Haematology. He has received the prestigious Glory of India award for his academic and social contributions. Dr Gupta is also a sports enthusiast and a certified Yoga teacher, conducting weekly classes in Bromley. He is married to Dr Meenal Gupta, a renowned histo-pathologist.
