Dr Tamara Basarab is a consultant dermatologist who graduated from Guy's Hospital in 1990. She undertook her specialist dermatology training in London, gaining extensive experience at various hospitals. Much of her training was at the prestigious St John's Institute of Dermatology, a national centre of excellence, where she trained under some of the country's leading dermatologists.

In 1999, Dr Basarab was appointed as a consultant dermatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Here, she developed and led the skin allergy service, in addition to caring for dermatology in-patients and patients with dermatological emergencies.

As a highly experienced dermatologist, Dr Basarab treats both adults and children. She has developed several areas of specialist interest, including acne, moles (with dermoscopy examination), skin cancer screening, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin rashes, alongside all aspects of general dermatology.

Dr Basarab is proficient in a range of medical tests and treatments, including photodynamic therapy (PDT), phototherapy, sclerotherapy for treating prominent blood vessels, and skin biopsies. She is also highly skilled in skin cancer screening.

Since her appointment in 1999, Dr Basarab has been dedicated to providing exceptional dermatological care, ensuring her patients receive the highest standard of treatment.
