    Mr Tamer El-Husseiny is a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in general urology and sub-specialising in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of kidney stones and benign prostatic disorders. Based at Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, he is highly reputed for his expertise in endourological surgery, which includes minimally invasive procedures.

    Mr El-Husseiny's surgical repertoire encompasses a wide range of procedures such as ureteroscopy and laser stone fragmentation, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP), Urolift, and Rezum. He is also adept at managing upper tract urothelial cancers and is proficient in placing various urological stents. Additionally, he treats other upper tract abnormalities, including strictures and extrinsic obstruction of the ureter.

    After graduating with honours from medical school, Mr El-Husseiny embarked on primary surgical and urological training and took up a role as an assistant lecturer in urology. He then pursued higher specialist training, completing urology training schemes in both London and the West Midlands. To further his research and training, he undertook a two-year subspecialty endourology fellowship at St Bartholomew's Hospital, awarded by the Endourological Society, focusing on the management of complex stone disease.

    Mr El-Husseiny is extremely passionate about academic urology and research in the field. He has led multiple research projects over the years and has published widely, including in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He has also presented his work at regional, national, and international meetings and conferences. Keen to share his skills and expertise, he is actively involved in teaching on multiple courses and workshops.

    Appointed as a consultant in 2010, Mr El-Husseiny continues to contribute significantly to the field of urology, combining clinical excellence with a commitment to advancing medical knowledge and education.
