Mr Tom Holland is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and OneWelbeck Women’s Health. He specialises in minimal access surgery for endometriosis, complex benign gynaecology, emergency gynaecology, and gynaecological ultrasound.
Mr Holland began his medical journey with preclinical studies at Cambridge University, followed by clinical training at Guy's and St Thomas', where he qualified in 2001. He then completed postgraduate training in London, gaining experience at several prestigious teaching hospitals, including King's College, Guy's and St Thomas', and University College Hospital. During his training, he undertook a two-year research fellowship focused on the role of gynaecological ultrasound in managing women with endometriosis. His research concluded that ultrasound can effectively assess the severity of endometriosis, aiding in treatment decisions. In 2013, he was awarded an MD for his research and subsequently completed advanced laparoscopic surgery training at University College Hospital.
Mr Holland is highly skilled in performing gynaecological ultrasound and is frequently invited to lecture on the subject. He is proficient in both open and minimally invasive surgeries for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, benign ovarian cysts, and other gynaecological issues.
