Dr Valentina Puntmann is a highly qualified and experienced cardiologist specialising in the early detection and treatment of cardiac problems that can lead to heart failure. She has a special interest in non-ischaemic inflammatory cardiomyopathies, hypertrophic and hypertensive heart disease. Dr Puntmann provides comprehensive multidisciplinary cardiac treatment to patients suffering from chronic conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus or chronic infections like HIV.
Dr Puntmann graduated top of her year from the University of Ljubljana in 1999. She completed her clinical training in the United Kingdom and Germany, and received her PhD in cardiovascular pharmacology in 2004. Additionally, she has undergone specialised training in cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging at the German Heart Institute in Berlin.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Puntmann is a passionate educator. She has held several teaching positions at top universities, including Honorary Lecturer at Imperial College London, Senior Lecturer at King's College London, and Clinical Associate Professor at the University Hospital Frankfurt. She is also a DZHK Principal Investigator with the German Heart Foundation, contributing to research and development in the field of cardiology.
Dr Puntmann's areas of expertise include the management of non-ischaemic inflammatory cardiomyopathies, hypertrophic and hypertensive heart disease, and the treatment of chronic cardiac conditions. She is dedicated to providing high-quality care and advancing the field of cardiology through both her clinical work and research.
