Miss Celia Theodoreli-Riga is a distinguished Consultant Vascular Surgeon and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She has been serving in this role since 2010, following her appointment as a Clinical Lecturer in Surgery after earning her Doctorate in Medicine from Imperial College.

Miss Celia is the Head of the School of Surgery for London at Health Education England, where she oversees one of the largest postgraduate education programmes in the UK. She also serves as the Surgical Training Committee Chair and Training Programme Director in Vascular Surgery, demonstrating her commitment to surgical education and training.

Her areas of expertise include the treatment of aortic aneurysms, occlusive vascular disease, endovenous management of varicose veins, sclerotherapy, carotid disease, diabetic foot disease, stroke prevention, aortic dissection, and endovascular robotic surgery. Miss Celia is renowned for her proficiency in these areas, which has earned her an international reputation.

In addition to her clinical roles, Miss Celia is a member of the UKRI/EPSRC Healthcare Technologies Strategic Advisory Board and the New Interventional Procedures Committee. She plays a crucial role in regulating and monitoring the clinical adoption of novel devices and techniques across all Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust sites.

Miss Celia has a strong interest in Medtech and clinical translation for medical devices. She is actively involved in research and has delivered over 300 podium presentations and published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Her work has attracted over £10 million in funding and earned her 30 national and international prizes.

Beyond her medical and academic pursuits, Miss Celia serves as an examiner for Imperial College and Oxford University. She is passionate about incorporating new advances in technology into the treatment of arterial and venous diseases and is dedicated to training and education in the field of vascular surgery.
