Dr Vijay Suresh is a Consultant in Renal and Internal Medicine at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He treats kidney conditions including chronic kidney disease, diabetic kidney disease, hypertension, glomerulonephritis and acute kidney injury.

His clinical interests also include onco-nephrology, complex urinary tract infections, renal stone disease and haemodialysis. He supports patients receiving dialysis and those who have undergone kidney transplantation.

Dr Suresh has led the Solihull satellite dialysis unit since 2007. He was shortlisted for the Solihull Health Professional of the Year Award in 2016 following nomination by local patients.

He is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students. He serves as Senior Academy Tutor for fourth-year medical students and examines both undergraduates and doctors taking MRCP examinations through the Royal College of Physicians.
