Dr Vinod Mullassery is a London-based consultant clinical oncologist specialising in the management of prostate and bladder cancers. He practices at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the Prostate Centre, Harley Street. Dr Mullassery treats patients using radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. He is the brachytherapy lead at the hospital and has implemented the image-guided interstitial brachytherapy programme for cervical cancer.
Dr Mullassery earned his MD in 1999 and pursued further oncology training at University College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. He later completed a post-CCT fellowship in modern radiotherapy techniques. In 2013, he received the prestigious American Brachytherapy Society HDR Scholarship Award. Dr Mullassery has also been a visiting Brachytherapy Fellow at the University of Leuven, Belgium, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Actively involved in teaching, Dr Mullassery has held the positions of Royal College Tutor and Post Graduate Faculty Lead at Guy's Hospital. He has also served as the Deputy Firm Head for the GKT Medical School. In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr Mullassery is engaged in research and serves as a Principal Investigator on several clinical trials. His areas of interest include the use of modern radiotherapy techniques for prostate cancer and oligometastatic disease.
