    Mr Vivek Datta is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Guy's and St. Thomas's Foundation Trust. He qualified from the University of London in 1993 and subsequently undertook specialist surgical training. Mr Datta completed a Fellowship at St Marks University College Hospital, London, and earned a research MD at Imperial College.

    Mr Datta sees patients with a variety of colorectal pathologies. He has a particular interest in rectal bleeding and pain, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, intestinal failure, hernia, and emergency general surgery. He also specialises in bowel cancer diagnosis and treatment, colorectal surgery, and laparoscopic surgery.

    With a keen interest in research and education, Mr Datta has co-authored numerous publications in his field. He is regularly invited to speak at national conferences and lectures and is a member of the steering group for the National Training Programme in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery.
