Prof. Was Mansoor has been practising at The Christie since 1999. After publishing his PhD on CAR-T cell immune therapies directed against oesophago-gastric cancers, he continued to pursue his interest in oesophagogastric cancers. He now heads the oesophago-gastric department, which provides a specialised service to patients, incorporating access to many cutting-edge trials.

Prof. Mansoor is also the chair and lead of the Systemic Therapy Research group, focused on developing innovative chemotherapy-based clinical trials. He is the research lead for the Greater Manchester Upper GI pathway board and sits on numerous national and international committees, where he contributes to upper GI cancer policy.

He specialises in oesophageal cancer, oesophagogastric cancer, stomach cancer, gastric cancer, neuroendocrine cancer, adrenal cancer, and colorectal cancer.
