About Dr Yin Wu

Dr Yin Wu is an Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and a clinician scientist at King's College London. He specialises in immunotherapy and the treatment of melanoma in his NHS practice, and he also offers private consultations.
Dr Wu began his medical journey by studying preclinical medicine at the University of Cambridge, where he continues to contribute as a Bye-Fellow in pathology, teaching undergraduate medical and veterinary students. He completed his clinical studies at University College London through the MBPhD programme, with his PhD research focusing on the role of unconventional T cells in human health and disease. This area of research has remained a central theme throughout his post-doctoral training.
Following his medical studies, Dr Wu trained in general internal medicine and medical oncology at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals and University College Hospital, serving as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer. In 2021, he was appointed as an Honorary Consultant at Guy's Hospital.
Dr Wu chairs the Guy's Hospital Skin Cancer Clinical Trials committee, where he oversees the development and implementation of clinical trials aimed at improving patient outcomes. His clinical expertise is complemented by his active involvement in basic laboratory research, focusing on the role of tissue-resident T cells in combating cancer. His research aims to enhance cancer immunotherapy, providing better treatment options for patients.
In his clinical practice, Dr Wu is dedicated to the treatment of melanoma and the advancement of immunotherapy techniques.
