Mr Yogesh Bhatt is a highly esteemed Consultant Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgeon and Lead Endocrine Surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital. He also holds honorary consultant positions at University College London Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital. Mr Bhatt graduated with honours from the University of Manchester Medical School in 2004, following a first-class honours degree in neuroscience from Imperial College London in 2003.
With over 16 years of experience in ENT, Mr Bhatt has held several clinical leadership roles, including Clinical Director of ENT at the Royal Free Hospital and Pathway Director for Head and Neck Cancer for North and East London. He is one of the few ENT surgeons in the UK to have been awarded the Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health, underscoring his commitment to paediatric care.
Mr Bhatt has performed over 1000 neck ultrasound examinations and is accredited by the Royal College of Radiologists. His extensive training includes time in neurosurgery at Queen Square, London, and high-volume centres such as the Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. He has also completed prestigious fellowships in advanced head and neck surgical oncology and endocrine surgery in the USA.
Since 2017, Mr Bhatt has chaired the Royal Free Hospital Thyroid Cancer Multidisciplinary Team and led the Parathyroid Surgery service since 2018. He is actively involved in medical education, holding a postgraduate certificate in medical education from the University of Manchester and serving as an undergraduate tutor at University College London Medical School.
