Dr Zhong Chen MBBS PhD MRCP is a highly esteemed Consultant Cardiologist at Ashford and St Peter's Hospital NHS Trust and Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Chen specialises in managing adult patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, with a particular focus on heart rhythm disorders. His areas of expertise include the treatment of palpitations, blackouts/syncope, chest pain, shortness of breath, vertigo/dizziness, and high blood pressure.

Dr Chen completed his medical and surgical studies at University College London, where he earned his MBBS qualification. He also holds an undergraduate degree in pharmacology. His cardiology specialist training was undertaken in London, followed by fellowships in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac devices at St George’s Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, and Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals. During his fellowships, he had the opportunity to work with leading national and international experts in the field.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr Chen completed a PhD in cardiovascular medicine at King’s College London. His research pioneered the use of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias.

Dr Chen is proficient in a variety of medical tests and treatments, including arrhythmia ablation for SVT, AF, and VT, as well as the implantation and management of cardiac devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices.
