Dr Marcus qualified MB CHB in Liverpool 1979 and became senior lecturer anatomy in 1981. He was awarded MD in 1985 in experimental pathology. He trained in radiology in Kings College Hospital and St Bartholomew Hospital in 1987. He was awarded Kodak Travelling Scholarship and Nycomed Scholarship in 1987, was assistant professor radiology Penn State Hospital 1988-9 and fellow in radiology UCSD in 1989.
