Dr Alex Lee is a consultant medical oncologist specialising in the treatment of sarcoma and germ cell tumours at The Christie Hospital. He is a dedicated member of the Greater Manchester and Oswestry Sarcoma Service and the Teenage & Young Adult Oncology Unit at The Christie. Dr Lee is also actively involved with the British Sarcoma Group, Connective Tissue Oncology Society, NCRI Soft Tissue Sarcoma Clinical Trials Subgroup, and EORTC Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma, and Pathobiology Groups.

Dr Lee's areas of expertise include the management and treatment of sarcomas and germ cell tumours. He is a Principal Investigator for numerous academic and commercially-sponsored clinical drug trials focused on sarcomas, contributing significantly to advancements in oncology research.

Dr Lee completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Edinburgh, where he also earned an intercalated degree in Experimental Pathology. He pursued his general medical training in Manchester and London, followed by specialist oncology training at The Royal Marsden. During his oncology training, Dr Lee conducted a PhD study within the Sarcoma Unit at The Marsden and the Molecular & Systems Oncology Team at the Institute of Cancer Research.

In 2020, Dr Lee joined The Christie as a consultant, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in oncology. His professional interests include clinical trials, molecular oncology, and the development of new therapeutic strategies for sarcoma and germ cell tumours. Dr Lee is committed to providing the highest standard of care to his patients and advancing the field of medical oncology through research and clinical practice.
