Dr Ankush Singhal is a Consultant Psychiatrist based in Greater Manchester and Cheshire. He has extensive experience in treating patients with a variety of mental health difficulties, including psychotic illnesses, Bipolar disorders, Depression, and Anxiety disorders. He routinely helps individuals suffering from stress-related conditions, such as those associated with occupational difficulties and relationship problems.
Dr Singhal has special expertise in the mental health of patients with physical health problems like COPD, diabetes, heart issues, cancer, chronic pain, and terminal illnesses. He also addresses medically unexplained physical symptoms, such as Non-epileptic attack disorder.
Dr Singhal believes in a holistic and collaborative approach, placing patients' values and aspirations at the heart of his practice. He focuses on medical treatment, lifestyle, stress management, coping strategies, socio-occupational functioning, and behavioural therapies. He also recommends referrals to other experts when necessary.
Graduating in Medicine in 1999, Dr Singhal has 20 years of experience in mental health, starting in 2001. He has been a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS since 2010 and also works as an independent clinician. Besides clinical work, he has served the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) in various roles, including as an executive committee member and regional representative of Liaison Psychiatry.
Dr Singhal is a trainer, supervisor, teacher, and examiner for MRCPsych exams. He has published widely in peer-reviewed international journals and has received Clinical Excellence Awards for his contributions to the NHS. RCPsych honoured him with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatry (FRCPsych) for his outstanding contribution to the profession.
