Professor Mundy is a renowned specialist in the field of urology. His main private practice is based at London Bridge Hospital. He holds the prestigious positions of Professor of Urology and Consultant Urological Surgeon at UCL Hospitals. Additionally, he serves as the Medical Director responsible for Quality and Safety, Research and Development, and Education and Training.
Professor Mundy completed his training in surgery and urology at Guy's Hospital, London, after qualifying from St Mary's Hospital Medical School, London. He has been a Medical Director at UCL Hospitals since 2001 and is a past president of the British Urological Association of Surgeons. He also served as a member of the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons.
In 2009, Professor Mundy was appointed Honorary Professor of Medicine at the University of Crete. He was the Director of the Institute of Urology at University College London from 1996 to 2007 and held the position of Clinical Director of Urology at Guy's Hospital from 1992 to 1995. From 1994 to 2001, he was the Clinical Director of Urology and Nephrology at UCL Hospitals. Since 1984, he has been a visiting consultant urologist for Mater Dei Hospital in Malta and has served as Honorary Civilian Consultant Urologist to the Royal Navy since 2000.
Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Mundy has held 42 visiting professorships and delivered 224 invited lectures worldwide, including the Hunterian Oration at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007 and the Moynihan Oration to the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland in 2009. He has also been a visiting surgeon to 121 institutions globally.
Professor Mundy has a long and distinguished career in urological reconstruction. His areas of expertise include urological reconstruction, artificial urinary sphincters, urological oncology, general urology, urethral and bladder reconstruction, incontinence, and the treatment of kidney, testicular, and all urological cancers.
In his personal time, Professor Mundy enjoys history and fine wines. He continues to contribute significantly to the field of urology through his clinical practice, research, and teaching.
