Dr Christos Tziotzios is a Consultant Dermatologist and Senior Lecturer at St. John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. He specialises in scalp and hair disorders, general medical dermatology, and skin cancer. Dr Tziotzios obtained his medical qualifications from the University of Cambridge and completed his Core Medicine Training at Cambridge University Hospitals. He was appointed Academic Clinical Fellow in Dermatology at St. John’s.

Dr Tziotzios has a keen interest in molecular genetic research and hair disorders. He secured substantial research grant funding for his doctoral research on the molecular pathogenesis of frontal fibrosing alopecia, a type of scarring hair loss affecting women. His PhD research at St. John’s has led to high-impact publications and several distinctions, including the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) Whimster Prize and the Royal Society of Medicine Dermatology Research Prize.

He remains active in both basic and clinical research and has recently been awarded the British Skin Foundation Young Investigator Award. Dr Tziotzios leads a UK-wide research consortium investigating lichenoid, scarring, and alopecic disorders. He is also the National Chief Investigator for the ALLEGRO studies into a novel class of medicines for alopecia areata.

Dr Tziotzios teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervises PhD research at King’s College London. He is a regularly invited speaker at scientific meetings. His clinical expertise includes hair loss treatments, mole checks, skin biopsies, and skin cancer screening. He treats conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and vitiligo.
