Dr Daniel Smith is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in the treatment of thoracic and breast cancers, including lung cancer, breast cancer, mesothelioma, and thymic tumours. Dr Smith is highly skilled in administering chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and he also provides immediate post-operative radiotherapy for benign conditions such as heterotopic ossification (HO) and pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS).

Dr Smith has a particular focus on high precision radiotherapy techniques. These include 3D and 4D conformal image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), and stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR). His expertise in these advanced techniques ensures that patients receive the most effective and targeted treatments available.

In addition to his clinical duties, Dr Smith serves as the Lead Clinician for Lung Cancer at Guy's and St Thomas', which is one of the largest lung cancer services in the UK. Dr Smith has published numerous papers in international journals, particularly on IMRT and the integration of nuclear medicine into clinical practice.
