Mr David Mowatt is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at The Christie NHS Trust. He also sees patients privately at The Christie Private Care and HCA UK at The Wilmslow Hospital.
Mr Mowatt is uniquely qualified in both medicine and dentistry, having studied at St George's Hospital in London and Edinburgh University. In 2000, he became a fellow in general surgery (FRCS) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Following his general surgery training, he specialised in reconstructive plastic and cosmetic surgery, training in Manchester, London, Yorkshire, Michigan, and Philadelphia.
From 2002 to 2004, Mr Mowatt served as the Craniofacial Surgery Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. During this period, he conducted research in tissue bioengineering and regenerative medicine, earning a Doctorate (MD) from University College London. In 2009, he was awarded the Fellowship in Plastic Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Plast).
Mr Mowatt's specialist interests include skin cancer (malignant melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma), sarcoma surgery, neurofibromatosis surgery, and reconstruction following cancer surgery of the face, head, and neck. He is also highly skilled in breast and gynaecological reconstruction and offers a comprehensive range of cosmetic surgery procedures.
