Ms Despina Mavridou is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, where she leads fertility services. Her clinical interests include fertility assessment, assisted reproductive treatments and operative gynaecology.
She trained as a fellow in fertility and assisted conception and has experience in IVF and the management of complex fertility problems. She has also undertaken additional menopause and hormone replacement therapy training, including certification in 2025.
Ms Mavridou studied through the joint University of St Andrews and Manchester Medical School programme. She undertook a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School investigating Group B Streptococcus vaccine development, followed by obstetrics and gynaecology residency training in St Louis, Missouri, before completing consultant training in the UK.
She contributed to reproductive medicine and gynaecology teaching materials for Kent and Medway Medical School. Her work on the management of multiple gestations has been published in Requisites in Obstetrics and Gynaecology: High-Risk Obstetrics.
