Professor Elinor Sawyer is a highly esteemed Consultant Clinical Oncologist with a specialist interest in the treatment of breast cancer. She is based at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital and also performs private work. Additionally, she holds the position of Professor in Oncology at King's College London.
Professor Sawyer completed her clinical oncology training at University College London, Royal Free, and St Thomas' Hospitals. She further advanced her expertise by obtaining a PhD in molecular genetics of cancer at the London Research Institute. In 2005, she was appointed as a Consultant Oncologist at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital.
In addition to her clinical practice, Professor Sawyer is deeply involved in research. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. Her primary research areas include genetic predisposition to breast cancer, with a particular focus on lobular breast cancer and pre-invasive cancer (DCIS and LCIS). She is also dedicated to identifying biomarkers that predict the progression of early breast cancer.
