Frequently asked questions
What are the common symptoms that your patients tend to present with?
My patients tend to present with back pain, leg pain or both. They also present with a change in the shape of their spine which would be a sign of scoliosis or kyphosis.
What are the treatments that you're able to offer your patients?
I offer a full examination in clinic followed by requesting the necessary scans such as x-rays or MRI. I follow up my patient in clinic to explain the findings in the examination and investigations. I offer the patient all lines of treatment that are suitable. I involve my patient in decision making and ensure she/he are empowered with knowledge to make the decision. I take complex conditions to MDT to consult my colleagues and reach the most appropriate treatment of her/his condition. I consent my patient for surgery at least one week prior to surgery. I keep my patients informed at all stages as I found this the best way to secure the best outcomes.
What are your areas of sub-specialist interest?
I specialise in complex spinal deformity correction including paediatric and adult degenerative spinal deformities. I trained to treat these disorders both conservatively and surgically at the highest level.
