Dr Gauri Godbole is a Medical Microbiologist and Parsitologist with over 30 years of experience in the field of Infection.
She has been a Consultant Parasitologist at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, London since 2014.
She is a specialist in Clinical Parasitology and treats endemic and imported parasitology infections.
She is also the Deputy Director for Gastrointestinal Infection, Food Safety and One Health at the UK Health Security Agency.
She is national expert on gastrointestinal bacterial infections and leads the national team which undertakes surveillance and management of food safety incidents in England and is the clinical lead for the Botulism and Helicobacter reference laboratory service for the UK.
Her research involves One Health pathogens, use of genomics and metagenomics, she has contributed to many national guidelines, is on national advisory committees and has over 80 publications.
