Dr Giorgio Lambru is a Consultant Neurologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Neurology. He specialises in headache and facial pain disorders and is one of the few neurologists in the UK formally trained in headache neurology. Dr Lambru pioneered the first and only fast track cluster headache clinic in the United Kingdom. He runs a large multidisciplinary complex facial pain and trigeminal neuralgia clinic and one of the largest and greater occipital nerve blocks services in the UK.
Dr Lambru gained his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan, training in Neurology at the University-Hospital of Parma. He completed a PhD in clinical Neurology at the Institute of Neurology, UCL, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of SUNCT, SUNA, and trigeminal neuralgia. He has authored numerous scientific publications and presented at national and international conferences.
Dr Lambru is involved in clinical research and trials for new treatments in migraine, cluster headache, and trigeminal neuralgia. He collaborates with the Headache laboratory at Wolfson CARD-King's College London in preclinical migraine research. He is a council member of the British Association for the Study of Headache and serves on the Advisory Board of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK.
His areas of expertise include monoclonal antibodies for migraine and cluster headache treatment, surgery for headache and facial pain disorders, acupuncture for migraine management, and various neurostimulation approaches. Dr Lambru treats conditions such as intractable headaches, hemiplegic migraine, cluster headache, SUNCT, hemicranias continua, paroxysmal hemicranias, trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, and facial pain.
