Dr Hamid Sheikh is the clinical oncology lead for upper GI cancer at The Christie, one of the UK's leading cancer treatment centres. He has been involved in numerous research trials focused on lung cancer, contributing significantly to advancements in this field. Dr Sheikh runs a comprehensive lung cancer service for the populations of Salford and East Cheshire, which includes offering an intra-luminal brachytherapy service for treating tumours in the airways.

Dr Sheikh completed his core medical training on the London medical rotation and gained his membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2002. He further specialised by studying on the clinical oncology Specialist Registrar training programme from 2003 until 2008, and he was awarded the title of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007.

Dr Sheikh's areas of expertise include chemotherapy and radiotherapy, with a particular focus on lung cancer, gastro-intestinal cancers, and oesophagogastric cancer. His dedication to patient care and research has made him a respected figure in the oncology community.
