    Dr Douglas is a consultant cardiologist with specializations in adult congenital heart disease and heart disease in pregnancy. She received her primary medical degree from Queen's University Belfast and completed most of her medical training at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. Dr Douglas further honed her expertise at Guy's and St Thomas' as a sub-specialty fellow.

    Since January 2020, Dr Douglas has been working as a consultant within the Adult Congenital Heart Disease and General Cardiology Team. She leads the Heart Disease in Pregnancy Team and plays a significant role in managing pulmonary hypertension. Her areas of expertise include transthoracic and transoesophageal echo, both in day case and peri-procedural settings, such as catheter interventions and cardiac surgeries.

    Dr Douglas has conducted extensive research on chronic total occlusive coronary disease using cardiac MRI, cardiomyopathy in pregnancy, placental dysfunction, and the identification of cardiovascular risk factors. She is also focused on pulmonary hypertension in pregnancy and the long-term cardiovascular health of women of childbearing age.

    In her role, Dr Douglas is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and advancing the field of cardiology through both clinical practice and research.
