Miss Irumee Pai is a consultant ENT surgeon at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London. She specialises in ear conditions and hearing implants in adults, including cochlear implant surgery. She completed specialist training at a number of centres across London and South East England and obtained a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Otolaryngology in 2013. She undertook two post-CCT fellowships, at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals (advanced otology and hearing implant surgery) and at Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia (otology and skull base surgery), before being appointed to her current consultant post in 2014.
In addition to a busy clinical practice, she has a keen research interest and has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications as well as two book chapters. She is currently studying for a part-time Ph.D. at King's College London. Miss Pai's academic background includes an MBBS from St. George's Hospital Medical School, University of London, and a BSc in Basic Medical Sciences and Neuroscience from the University of London. She also holds a Diploma in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an MSc in Surgical Science from Imperial College London. She achieved her FRCS (ORL-HNS) in 2013.
Miss Pai is dedicated to advancing the field of otology and hearing implants, and her clinical expertise is complemented by her ongoing research and academic pursuits. She is passionate about improving patient outcomes through innovative surgical techniques and evidence-based practices.
