Prof. Jamie Cavenagh is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Haematology at St Bartholomew's Hospital, part of Barts and The London NHS Trust. He qualified from St Mary's Hospital Medical School and received advanced training in haematology at St George's Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital, and Barts and The London. During his time as a Leukaemia Research Fund Scientific Training Fellow, he completed his MD thesis.
Prof. Cavenagh's clinical and research interests focus on haemato-oncology and bone marrow transplantation, with a particular emphasis on multiple myeloma, acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and allogeneic transplantation. He has published over 100 scientific papers and is an executive member of the UK Myeloma Forum (UKMF). Additionally, he is an active participant in the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) myeloma clinical trials group.
Prof. Cavenagh treats a range of conditions including multiple myeloma, AML, MDS, and other haemato-oncological disorders. He is highly skilled in procedures such as bone marrow transplantation and allogeneic transplantation. His expertise and dedication to the field have made him a respected figure in haematology since his appointment.
In his role, Prof. Cavenagh is committed to advancing the understanding and treatment of blood cancers, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care.
