Dr James Wilson is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at University College London Hospital, specialising in the treatment of thoracic malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer, small-cell lung cancer, mesothelioma, and thymoma. He also offers radiotherapy for skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

Dr Wilson completed his DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford in 2015, supported by a Cancer Research UK/Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council fellowship. He completed his training at the Royal Marsden Hospital and was awarded a prestigious National Institute for Health Research Clinical Lectureship at The Institute of Cancer Research in 2016. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.

As a core member of the oligometastatic multi-disciplinary team (MDT), Dr Wilson offers stereotactic radiotherapy for primary and secondary lung cancers, as well as metastases to the spine, bone, and other sites. He represents clinical oncology at the specialist spinal tumour MDT at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Dr Wilson has extensive experience working in London's leading cancer centres. In addition to his role at University College London Hospital, he is an Associate Professor at UCL, where he leads research aimed at improving treatment outcomes for patients. He is also a specialist committee member for NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).

Dr Wilson's areas of expertise include the treatment of thymoma, thymic carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and small cell lung cancer. His commitment to advancing oncology care and his involvement in cutting-edge research make him a leading figure in his field.
