Dr Chan is a Consultant Neurologist and Dementia Specialist who practises privately in London. He sees patients at HCA UK at The Shard in London and also offers virtual consultations. Dr Chan has extensive expertise in managing neurological conditions such as memory disorders, headache, migraine, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, and Parkinson's disease.
Alongside his broad neurological practice, Dr Chan has a heartfelt commitment to supporting patients and families affected by dementia and cognitive disorders. In 2015, he founded the Cognitive Neurology Service in Kent – a pioneering diagnostic service for people living with Young Onset Dementia and complex forms of dementia. His dedication to building and developing this service was recognised with a Clinical Excellence Award in 2018. Dr Chan works closely with local dementia support organisations to ensure his patients receive personalised, compassionate help beyond the clinic, and he is proud to be a member of the Young Dementia UK network.
In 2024, Dr Chan led the team that established the Alzheimer's Disease Treatment Programme at London Bridge Hospital. This milestone made him one of the first specialists in the UK to offer the revolutionary new Amyloid Targeting Therapies — Lecanemab and Donanemab — bringing new hope to patients in the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease. His wealth of experience in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease has meant that his expertise is regularly sought by those living within the UK and also from abroad.
Dr Chan's academic journey reflects a lifelong dedication to excellence in medicine. He graduated from Barts and The London Medical School in 2004, earning prizes for outstanding academic achievement, and attaining honours for a sub-internship in Internal Medicine at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in America. He went on to conduct original research into the neural mechanisms behind memory and emotion, achieving a distinction in his MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology at UCL.
His specialist training in Neurology took place at some of Central London's most prestigious institutions, including St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, The Royal London Hospital, King's College Hospital, University College London Hospital, and the internationally acclaimed National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square — providing him with a truly exceptional foundation for the care he delivers today.
