Mr Kulvinder Lall is a leading cardiothoracic surgeon based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. He was first appointed at the age of 36, making him one of the youngest cardiac surgeons in the UK. He qualified in medicine in 1989 from the University of London, before undertaking specialist training in London, Glasgow, and Sydney.

Mr Lall specialises in aortic, coronary, mitral, and electrophysiological surgery. He has performed more than 5000 heart operations as an NHS surgeon. He enjoys undertaking research and has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Apart from surgery and his research, he teaches cardiac surgery to medical students and doctors in the USA, Europe, China, Hong Kong, and Israel. He is also known for implanting the first stentless heart valve in Asia. More recently, he has implanted sutureless heart valves in London and has presented his data at many international conferences.

Mr Lall is proficient in a wide range of procedures and treatments, including minimal access aortic valve surgery (MiAVR), endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), artificial heart valve surgery, atrial septal defect repair, coronary artery surgery, heart bypass surgery, valve repair or replacement, minimally invasive heart surgery, aortic valve replacement, heart surgery, cardiac surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and mediastinal tumors. He is also a global proctor for LivaNova, specialising in minimal access AVR via the RAT approach, and is experienced in aortic surgery (arch & FET) and coronary artery surgery with endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH).
