Dr Mehul Dhinoja is a Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital. He also sees patients privately at the London Independent Hospital and Bupa Basinghall Clinic. Dr Dhinoja graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1995. Following his basic medical training, he completed his specialist training in London and further honed his skills in cardiac electrophysiology at The Heart Hospital. He also trained in Adult Congenital Heart Disease Electrophysiology at The Children's Hospital Boston in the USA.
Dr Dhinoja has extensive experience in general cardiology and heart rhythm problems. He has a particular interest in managing complex heart rhythm issues, such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, especially in patients with heart failure and primary heart muscle diseases like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. His expertise extends to a variety of therapeutic procedures, including catheter ablation and the implantation of devices such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and biventricular devices.
Dr Dhinoja performs between 150 and 200 catheter ablation procedures annually and has 20 years of experience in device implantation and explantation. He ensures his knowledge and techniques remain current by regularly attending training courses.
