Dr Malcolm Persey is a highly experienced Consultant Rheumatologist, having served in this role since 2001. Dr Persey's NHS base is at Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital, which are part of the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust. He also runs a private practice at BMI Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals in Enfield, Spire Bushey Outpatients & Diagnostic Centre, The Wellington Diagnostic and Outpatient Centres in Elstree and Golders Green, and The Royal Free Private Patients Unit at Hadley Wood Hospital.

Dr Persey graduated from the University of Oxford and the Royal Free Hospital in 1988. He subsequently completed his general medicine and rheumatology training at several prestigious institutions, including St Mary’s Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

With a broad range of specialist interests, Dr Persey diagnoses and treats a wide array of rheumatological conditions. His particular areas of expertise include general rheumatology, gout, osteoporosis, vasculitis, and arthritis/rheumatic diseases in pregnancy. He is adept at interpreting various diagnostic investigations such as blood tests, bone density scans, X-rays, MRI scans, and nerve conduction studies.

Dr Persey is also highly skilled in providing non-surgical treatments for a variety of rheumatological issues. These include carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, neck and shoulder pain, and other soft tissue and joint conditions. His extensive experience ensures that patients receive comprehensive and effective care tailored to their specific needs.
