About Mr Mark George

Mr Mark George is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He also performs private work at London Bridge Hospital and HCA UK at The Shard. Mr George is a specialist in the treatment of advanced primary and recurrent colorectal cancer, as well as laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery. He has extensive expertise in pilonidal sinus surgery, haemorrhoids, fistula and fissure surgery, and hernia repairs.
Mr George qualified from St Mary's Hospital in 1991 and completed his higher surgical training in the South East London Region. He undertook research at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research, earning his Master of Surgery in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. Currently, he serves as the Clinical Lead for colorectal cancer and the Regional Anal and Cancer Surgeon.
Mr George is a keen triathlete and aspires to compete in Hawaii one day.
