Mr Matt Lechner is a distinguished consultant rhinologist and ENT surgeon, specialising in a spectrum of nasal and sinus issues such as nasal blockage, rhinitis, sinusitis, smell loss, snoring, sleep apnea, and rhinoplasty surgery. He currently practices at HCA UK in The Shard and The London Independent Hospital.

Mr Lechner's comprehensive training in Ear, Nose & Throat surgery took place at prominent medical institutions in London, including University College London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital. He further honed his skills through a surgical Fellowship in Rhinology and Advanced Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at Stanford University, equipping him with expertise in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery and nasal procedures.

In addition to his surgical commitments, Mr Lechner actively participates in various clinical working groups, notably the Clinical Olfactory Working Group, which focuses on olfactory (smell) disorders, including those associated with Covid-19. He holds the position of Associate Professor at University College London, where he leads a research programme concentrating on rhinology, smell loss, early cancer drug development strategies, and precision medicine.

Mr Lechner's contribution to the medical field is evidenced by over 100 original articles spanning rhinology, smell disorders, and tumour biology in diverse journals. His eminence was acknowledged through the prestigious Hunterian Professorship bestowed upon him by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2020.

His passion for education is reflected in his international lectures, participation in courses, and involvement in teaching initiatives both in the UK and overseas. Recognised as a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Mr Lechner resides in London.
