Mr Maurice Lau is a leading consultant urologist with HCA Healthcare at the Christie Private Care, and he also holds an NHS role at The Christie Hospital. His areas of interest include urological cancers, men's health, and haematuria. Mr Lau is a talented surgeon who offers a variety of treatments, including open radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic nephrectomies, and robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomies. He played a pivotal role in establishing a transperineal ultrasound-guided template biopsy of the prostate to improve diagnostic rates.

Mr Lau began his career with a BSc in Medical Sciences from the University of St. Andrews, followed by a Medical Degree from Manchester University in 1988. He completed his training in the North West and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. In 2000, he was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Wrightington Hospital Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
